Tutorial: Easy Earrings

Today I want to show you how to make a pair of earrings using flat beads. Well... you can use any large beads as well :)
You will need:
- Two flat beads
- 2 Ball pins 20ga, 2.5" long
- Round nose pliers
- Chain nose pliers
- Wire cutters
- Chasing hammer and bench block (optional)

Are you ready to begin?

1. Using chain nose pliers, make a small "U"shape bend.
*if you do not have a ball pins, use 20ga round half hard wire.
2. Slide a bead towards the hook. You may want to press the ball to the bead with chain nose pliers. This hook prevents beads from spinning too much :)
3. Hold the wire with the thickest part of round-nose pliers 3-4 mm above the bead as shown.
4. Bend the wire towards the back side of the earring (where ball is).
5. Make the second earring in the same manner.
6. Harden the ear-hook's bends with chasing hammer (optional).

PS. If you use round beads (not flat), just skip first two steps (well, you will have only two steps left :))

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

  1. Wow, these are super simple but really cute! I never would have thought to simply put the u-loop at the bottom. This would be a great tutorial to feature on my site; www.allfreebeadedjewelry.com
